A look back at our past successes

Hi LSN

Funding from Luton Sports Network has helped me continue to achieve my dreams, Gymnastics being self funded in the main puts a huge financial strain on all those around me, my family & my home Club. With the support locally this has enabled me to compete at each International I have been selected for. This is fantastic. I am hugely grateful. Each International I have competed,I have improved vastly – being World Champion in November 2014 was never more than a dream but is now a reality. Thankyou for your continued support.

Kind Regards

Elliott Browne

New International success for Luton's gymnasts November 2013

Luton's Georgia Downing & Elliott Browne have had recent successes as part of team GB at the 2013 Trampoline, Tumbling & Double Mini Trampoline World and World Age Group Championships event held in Sofia, Bulgaria.

Georgia, who trains at SALTO HITCHIN GC, was the youngest member of the senior women's DMT team that achieved a fantastic 5th place in the World championships.

Elliott, who trains at Harlequin GC, achieved an individual 5th place in the 15-16 Tumbling World Age Group. He was just less than 1 point from a medal in a very close competition, in his debut international appearance.

Both Georgia and Elliott demonstrating huge return on investment in their sport and by Luton Sports Network through Grant award eligibility for gifted and talented individuals from Luton.

Stockwood Park gain RFU Accreditation

Stockwood Park RFC of London Road Luton, were again recognised by the RFU with the latest RFU Accreditation as a rugby club on Sunday. After becoming the first club in the area to receive the RFU Seal of Approval and club mark in 2006, the club again is the first in the area to receive the new accreditation. The club has always taken pride in being Luton's Community Rugby club and this has been recognised by increased numbers in players from U4 to U16 as well as senior teams from Ladies to Colts and four Senior teams.

Stockwood Park RFC is also proud partners of the University of Bedfordshire and Bedfordshire County under 15s squad and has started to form links with Luton 6th Form College.

Luton’s Chloe Gallagher was awarded a grant of £150 in March 2012 by Luton Sports Network to support her development and progress with her tennis.

Chloe is 9 years of age. In the calendar year 2012 she played 16 times for Bedfordshire and she won all 16 matches.

Chloe has won 2 grade 3 (Regional standard) events in 2012 including a very high level event in Bedford beating the best Nottinghamshire girl in the final.

In October 2012 Chloe was identified by the LTA and is in the Aegon Future stars program as being one of the most talented girls for her age in UK.

Chloe is in the top 12 players in Great Britain for her age and she achieved all her goals in 2012.

She is now playing full court tennis with slightly slower and softer balls than adult players.

In addition Chloe works hard at maintaining & developing her fitness levels and has now represented Luton athletics Club in Cross Country Running.
